Paris des Plaines and UMKC hosting ‘Summer Night. Dream. Freedom. Love.’ Festival on July 14th

The University of Missouri-Kansas City is hosting the “Summer Night. Dream. Freedom. Love” film festival on Saturday July 14, 2012. The festival is part of a world wide event to showcase inspirational short films in different genres, such as animation, documentary and live-action. The film festival will begin at 11:00 p.m. CST and will be held in the Quad on the UMKC campus. There will be around 20 short films shown, lasting roughly an hour and a half.

Paris des Plaines International Student Film Festival will debut in KC in 2013

The festival is organized worldwide by the 52˚17’ travel project. The films are all being shown on the same night around the world in twelve different countries. The participating countries include Russia, the founding country; as well as Belarus, Morocco, Mexico, Portugal, Colombia, Australia, Syria, Bolivia, Spain, Antarctica and the United States. Currently, the only other city in America that is Twin Falls, Idaho.

“Summer Night. Dream. Freedom. Love” is being brought to Kansas City film lovers by the Communications Studies and Film Department at UMKC. For more information about this screening, contact Paris des Plaines.

Paris des Plaines Kicks off in 2013

Kansas City’s film community will get a taste of international filmmakers next summer when the Paris des Plaines International Student Film Festival kicks off. The festival is organized by film students from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and is tentatively scheduled to be to run from June 7-9th in 2013.

According to the film festival’s Director, Morgan Elyse, the goal of the film fest is to help put Kansas City not only in a national spotlight but….
