The University of Missouri-Kansas City is hosting the “Summer Night. Dream. Freedom. Love” film festival on Saturday July 14, 2012. The festival is part of a world wide event to showcase inspirational short films in different genres, such as animation, documentary and live-action. The film festival will begin at 11:00 p.m. CST and will be held in the Quad on the UMKC campus. There will be around 20 short films shown, lasting roughly an hour and a half.
Paris des Plaines International Student Film Festival will debut in KC in 2013
The festival is organized worldwide by the 52˚17’ travel project. The films are all being shown on the same night around the world in twelve different countries. The participating countries include Russia, the founding country; as well as Belarus, Morocco, Mexico, Portugal, Colombia, Australia, Syria, Bolivia, Spain, Antarctica and the United States. Currently, the only other city in America that is Twin Falls, Idaho.
